Just a friendly reminder that Morning Star Elementary Parent-Teacher conferences begin tomorrow evening! The time for our class is from 5:00-7:00 pm. Please come in and visit with me so that I can give you an update on your child's progress! Each meeting will last around 15 minutes. The students have worked very hard on some art projects and assignments that will be displayed around the room. Hope to see you all there!
Today in class, we talked about America and it's geography. We covered topics such as what oceans surround our country and where the mountainous regions are located. We explored each region of the United States and discussed the differences in geography. Our students had the opportunity to create their own maps of the U.S. using 3D materials to represent the different land forms. We had a lot of fun!
The Morning Star Elementary Science Fair is finally here! Today in class, students presented their science fair projects and were evaluated by judges. The top 5 projects in the class will get to participate in the school-wide science fair which takes place tomorrow evening (March 5th) at 5:00 pm in the gym. Congrats everyone on your wonderful work! Good luck to those competing tomorrow!
Pictured Below: Jamie and Lynn showing off their science fair project, "What Affects the Glow?" On March 3rd, Morning Star Elementary School will be holding it's semi-annual book fair! The book fair will take place in the library from 8 am to 4 pm. During the day, our students will get a chance to visit the book fair and explore. If your child would like to purchase books, please make sure that you send them in to school on Tuesday with some money. The book fair is always a huge success and the kids love picking out their own books!
Today in room 403, we talked about plants and how they get their nutrients. We discussed how plants absorb water through their roots and how water is necessary for all forms of life. As an experiment, we placed celery stalks in cups of water with food coloring. When the water was absorbed by the celery, you can see it turn the color of the food coloring! Pretty cool, huh? Hi Parents!
Next Friday (February 13th) we will be having a Valentine's day party in class! Feel free to send in some baked goods or snacks with your child to share with the class! Please refrain from sending in anything made with peanut butter or nuts! Hey Parents!
Here is the part of the blog where you can find out what we are doing in class and at Morning Star Elementary! This is where I will post important dates and events happening in out classroom. Check in for updates! |
